Ambassadors Club e.V.

Successful Launch of the Diplomatic After Work at NIO House Berlin

On 6 May 2026, the Ambassadors Club hosted its first Diplomatic After Work at NIO House Berlin on Kurfürstendamm. With this new format, the Club is expanding its event programme by creating a more informal setting for exchange, networking and personal conversations within Berlin’s diplomatic community.

The evening opened at 6:30 p.m. with a reception, sparkling wine and a relaxed get-together in the modern atmosphere of NIO House. The guests were welcomed by Dr. h.c. Mania Feilcke-Dierck, President of the Ambassadors Club, Martin Hoeck, Vice President of the Ambassadors Club, and Ben von Bubnoff, Treasurer of the Ambassadors Club. In their opening remarks, they introduced the idea behind the new Diplomatic After Work format: to bring members of the diplomatic community together in a setting that is open, personal and conversational, while still offering relevant topics and inspiring speakers.

The Ambassadors Club was delighted to welcome representatives from numerous embassies and diplomatic missions, as well as partners and friends of the Club. The evening reflected the Club’s mission to create spaces for dialogue, trust and personal connection beyond formal protocol.

Following the welcome remarks, Mr. Hui Zhang, Vice President NIO Europe, addressed the guests and gave an insight into NIO’s vision of mobility, innovation and community. His contribution underlined why NIO House Berlin is not only a showroom, but also a place for exchange, creativity and connection.

The keynote of the evening was delivered by Otto Fricke, Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Olympic Sports Confederation. Speaking on Germany’s bid to host Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036, 2040 or 2044, he highlighted the broader social and international relevance of sport. The Olympic and Paralympic idea stands not only for athletic excellence, but also for inclusion, peaceful competition, shared enthusiasm and international understanding, all values that are closely connected to the spirit of diplomacy.

After the speeches, the evening continued with networking and personal conversations, accompanied by delicious and innovative cocktails. The relaxed atmosphere offered guests the opportunity to exchange views, deepen existing contacts and create new connections within the diplomatic community.

The Ambassadors Club extends its sincere thanks to NIO for generously hosting and supporting the evening at NIO House Berlin. As part of the event, NIO also presented a special diplomatic offer for the NIO ET5, with attractive conditions for members of the diplomatic community. Further information on this offer is available from Robert Czaja at robert.czaja@nio.io.

The Club was also very pleased to welcome Cigna Healthcare as a new partner. With long-standing experience in supporting ministries, diplomats, government officials and internationally mobile communities, Cigna provides tailored healthcare solutions for those whose lives and work cross borders. Its engagement is therefore a natural and meaningful addition to the Ambassadors Club’s partner network.

We thank all guests, speakers, partners and sponsors for making the first Diplomatic After Work a successful and memorable evening.
