Ambassadors Club e.V.

Driving Safety Training from AUDI for Diplomats

On October 18th, 2014, the Ambassadors Club has invited together with AUDI to a very special event.

There were 20 seats for a premium driving safety training on an old abandoned airfield in Groß Dölln, in the north-east of Brandenburg.
First, the diplomats met in the morning at the AUDI City on Kurfürstendamm, where Günter Behringer (Head of Sales to public authorities and diplomats) and Frank Kronisch (Area Sales Manager for diplomats), welcomed the participants from Israel, Great Britain, China, Netherlands, Poland, Kosovo, Nepal, Serbia, South-Sudan and Georgia.
The drive to the training area was carried out in pairs with an Audi R8 in red or white.

Arrived at the site in Groß Dölln there was a briefing by Rob Art and Wilfried Wiedner, the two instructors for the training. Three different exercises should be completed on the day in an Audi A8 quattro. The aim was to respond properly in extreme situations. Be it either to drive too fast into a turn and lose control or that suddenly an obstacle appeared ahead of the car.
Through these exercises every single one could see how he behaves in such a situation. And it turned out that the personal reflection was not always correct.
Therefore, such a driving safety course is quite highly recommended.

The two instructors were very satisfied with the performance of the participants and gave each his certificate of participation. After that the participants went back to Berlin in a coach.

For the diplomats it was an unforgettable experience and they were able to get to know each other outside of the protocol.
