On 29 February, the Ambassadors Club and its President Dr h.c. Mania Feilcke-Dierck invited Ambassadors to a very special information visit. The destination was the Bundeswehr Joint Forces Operations Command in Schwielowsee near Potsdam. The distinguished guests from all over the world were welcomed by Brigadier General Andreas Pfeifer.
In an entertaining and very interesting presentation, the guests learnt about the tasks of the command, which supervises and commands the German soldiers in all foreign missions. The Operations Command is also responsible for evacuation and rescue missions of German citizens from abroad.
The group then visited the Forest of Remembrance. This memorial was erected for the soldiers who died on foreign missions and is open to the public.
